]]>I’m so glad to be reporting again with good news.
I had another appt. last week Thursday.
I forgot to put on the cream before (actually I think I was out of the cream anyways)
so it did hurt a drop more then last time, but I still wouldn’t call it pain.
and since I knew that it only takes 10 minutes, I decided that I can tolerate it.
My face was also a little red, but not for long.
This time when I was scheduling the next appt. we added 2 more weeks between the appts. that is a big milestone, especially from the beginning, when I had to shave every other day.
And I can’t even tell you how many compliments I get, from friends, family, workmates and e/one else.
Everyone keeps telling me how good I look, and theyre all asking me if I’m doing laser. I’m proud to say that YES!
and it’s all due to your help and money!
So keep it coming!
Tizku Lemitzvos!

]]>today I went to a new laser technician.
she lives close to me, and she has a similar method to the one I went to until now, but it’s less painful and quicker.
until now it would always take about a 1/2 an hour, was pretty painful, and it was red and burning for a day.
this lady has a strong special fan that blows on your face the entire time and makes it virtually pain free. and best of all her machine is muuuch quicker, so what used to take 1/2 an hour, now takes 10 minutes. compared to the previous one, this was literally a walk in the park.
I’m so happy I switched and I’m staying with this technician for the rest of the sessions.
Thank you all again for helping me look better and feel better.
Remember to keep donating. every penny helps.
]]>today was my fifth appt.
the technician said she sees at least a 40% decrease in the hair, and it’s lighter, thinner and much more clear spots.
she also said that now my face is starting to look pink as opposed to grey from so much hair.
With all your help we managed to pay for this session, but now there’s $4.75 left in the fund.. in six weeks I have another appt. another 195.25 has to go in there if I want to be able to have my next appt.
Pleeez e/one, try to help as best as you can.
besides for having a mitzvah, you are also helping me look presentable and I shouldn’t be embarrased every time I go out on the street.
Thanx e/one for you continued help.
]]>Hi everyone.
Just wanted to update e/one on my latest laser news.
I had another appt. on Thursday, Feb 14, 2008.
She says she sees a major difference, and hopefully we can stretch the time between the appointments, from 6 weeks to 7 or 8.
I had forgotten to put the numbing cream (actually I didn’t even have it with me) and the pain was not too bad B”H..
Even if it did hurt, I knew this is the best thing for me and I can’t let go when I’m upto this far. I’m glad I sat through the pain. I’m glad I went again..
But I can’t do it without your continued help.
There is only $161.60 left in the fund.. and that is not enough for another appointment. we need more donations so I can make it to my next appointment and not have to cancel because of a lack of money..
Please help me.. we need your donations.
every little bit helps..
Thank you everyone for your continued efforts and your help.
]]>I must say that I was very surprised to get a phone call from the woman who is doing the laser, to let me know that she is coming to my area and if I want an appointment. that’s real caring and keeping track. she remembered when my last appointment was and knew that I’m due for another appointment. that was soo nice of her.
I put the cream on my face an hour before, and was preparing for about an hour of pain, but I was very surprised when I was done in 22 minutes and barely felt anything, first of all the cream helped and also the fact that she said that she sees at least a 20% decrease in the facial hair.
she did my chin, neck, sideburns, upper and lower lip, and cheeks, all this in 22 minutes.
I’m soo happy I went again.
she gave me another appointment for February 14. I’m actually looking forward to it, looking forward to be hair free for longer and longer between each session.
I could not have done this without the help from all of you.
everyone who donated and especially those that made repeat donations.
I will forever be grateful for your help in making me look better and feel better about myself.
I will soon upload an updated picture of myself so you can all see the progress with your own eyes. and you can all see what you have accomplished with your help and donations.
Thank you again and Tizku Lemitzvos!
]]>I think that because there was no stress of the pain during the session; that might be why I wasn’t in any pain the next 2 days either. I walked out and felt like I was on a cloud. I have a good feeling about this, and I love how hopeful I feel now because of the laser.
I want to take a moment to thank all of you who donated money, cream, expertise, and services. It is a huge mitzvah and one that you can actually see the rewards in this world today. May Hashem grant you the prosperity and serenity you deserve.
]]>A couple of days later the hair came back only in a few spots, so I
just shaved that off. Every couple of days I see a few strays and I shave that off.
I’m ready for my next appointment!

It’s hard to believe that after one treatment I was hair free for 10 days. I see that it’s working. I’m so glad I got myself into this and I thank everyone for helping
me get to where I am now.

]]>I suffer enough already with infertility which is draining us mentally, financially, emotionally and now physically. I cringe with disgust just thinking about the glorious weather with the sun shining on my face like a light which makes each solitary hair so noticeable. I really have no choice and must do this new laser treatment but it costs a fortune. I already spent this year over $10,000 out of my own pocket for infertility treatment that my insurance won’t cover. We’re really broke and therefore I’d appreciate if your organization could do something to help me feel like a ‘mentch’. It’s hard for me to explain how embarrassing this is for me to have to get to your organization. May Hakosoh Boruch Hu repay you and Tizku L’miztzvos!

I don’t want to put my real picture, because I’m ashamed. Chewbacca, Hairball, Grizzly, have all been nicknames of mine, and not for affectionate reasons. I’ve had to shave my face twice daily for most of my teenage and adult years. I had a permanent razor rash and black dots in my skin.
Baruch Hashem, I came up with enough money to have laser on my legs (I haven’t finished treatment yet) and electrolysis on my face. I’d shaved so much that the red hair on my face became black, but because the roots were still red, laser wouldn’t work on my face. Over the years I’ve spent thousands of dollars on treatments. I still have hair on my face and other unwelcome places. It’s better than it was, but I still need help getting rid of it.
And that’s not the worst of it. I had hair everywhere I didn’t want it, except for the top of my head! In high school, they took an aerial picture of us for the yearbook. On my head, you see a bald spot the size of a yarmulke. Even one of my educators seminary was like, “Can’t you take the hair from the sides of your head, and pile it on the top of your head?”
I also have severe osteoarthritis in my knees and borderline sugar problems which can all be attributed to PCOS. I’ve lost fifty pounds and I do my best to eat right, but even if I do that, it’s very hard for me to lose that last 30 pounds because of the PCOS.
I’m ashamed to go on shidduchim. I don’t even want to think about how hard it is going to be for me to conceive, G-d forbid.
I’m 30 years old and I’m a wreck. Help.
]]>If anyone would like to speak to her personally, she very kindly offered her time. Please send an email to info@pcosfund.com with your contact number and preferred time. Mrs. S. will be so kind and return your call.

I got married at age 19. I couldn’t conceive because I wasn’t ovulating. The OB/GYN performed tests to determine if I could conceive at all. I can, but this hormonal disease targets different areas. It has taken a huge financial toll on me, and it has taken a huge mental toll on me as well.
Insecurity, depression, and the stress of going to different doctors caused financial issues and marriage problems.
I couldn’t even let my ex-husband look at my face closely, nor touch it. The hair on my face is not the only problem. I keep my arms and legs covered because of the thick hair on them. I was so desperate to get rid of the facial hair, I shaved. Big mistake. Then I tweezed. Another big mistake. I waxed as well but that isn’t permanent and can also make the hair much thicker, depending what part of the body it is. Because I have olive skin and dark hair, from what I know, electrolysis is best for me. But it’s very expensive, and with all of my financial problems, I can’t afford it.
Every single day (except Shabbos) I shave my face. The hair grows every day from both sides of my face, chin, upper and lower lip area.
For some this is just an image problem. For me it’s a big deal. No matter how confident a woman can be, it’s so unpleasant, so uncomfortable to have facial hair. People stare at me like I’m some kind of a freak. What I went through in my marriage and in the rest of my life is something that you, G-d forbid, can only live through to understand.
After I got divorced, I tried to look for alternative ways to get rid of the PCOS. In 2005 I had an ovarian wedge removal. They also scraped the ovaries of cysts. This surgery, according to some doctors, was supposed to help the menstrual periods to come normally and diminish the facial hair.
It worked for six months. The facial hair was getting thinner. I got some periods with a few days’ delay, but now I’m back again in the same or worse situation.
Now I’m waiting for a new endocrinology treatment. The usual Metformin treatment instead of helping me, caused me liver problems, along with other health issues.
Thanks for taking the time to read my story.

Michelle, the nurse at at Dr. Marc Avram’s Office was happy to give me some more information:
Treatment cost is a one-time expense of $2,000 - $3,000 (rough estimate). For a one-time investment, a woman can get her dignity and her life back in order; won’t you help be a part of this mitzvah?
The LMX Topical Anesthetic Cream needs to be applied before the laser treatment. It is available from Ferndale laboratories. We are trying to get some donated. The website is http://www.ferndalelabs.com

Over the years I have tried many different types of hair removal options. I have waxed, did electrolysis, used creams, medications, bleach, tweezers and what not. I went to numerous doctors (before I was diagnosed with PCOS) and tried countless things. None of them helped for more then a couple of days, and then I started shaving.
In the beginning, I had to shave about once in 2 weeks but over the years it has gotten so bad that if I don’t shave it every other day I go out of my house looking like a guy who shaves.
I’m tired!
I’m tired of all those stares, the glances, the questions and the stupid remarks and comments. I’m tired of lugging around my shaving kit, creams, razors, extra blades and cotton balls. I’m tired of being afraid to go out to a party or wedding, when even after shaving there is still something noticeable.
I want this all to end.
There is only one thing left that I hadn’t tried yet. And that is Laser hair removal treatment. Laser is the only thing that will hopefully clear me once and for all from this facial hair and from the embarrassment. But there’s a problem within the solution. Where does one get the money to pay for 3-4 sessions of laser treatment. One laser treatment session can cost anywhere between a few hundred dollars to $3,000 dollars for a permanent treatment.
My friends, we ask of you - Please join me in this quest! Donate some money, every dollar will help me look more decent and like the beautiful young LADY I can be!
Thank You and Tizku Lemitzvos!
Malky, April 2007
